Karina was born and raised in Guadalajara, MX. She migrated to the Chicago area in 2005 at the age of 16. Karina always had an eye and natural intuition for beauty, fashion, dancing and music. She decided to study Cosmetology to initiate her successful career as a hair stylist in 2010, while raising her young daughter Zoe. She worked at a couple different salons between 2010 and 2016 where soon she found her passion as a colorist! During that time she kept high levels of curiosity and desire to learn all she possibly could about her industry. She soon realized how someone’s life and self esteem can improve dramatically by simply giving them great looking hair and/or makeup. In addition, she decided to study Fashion Design; where she learned so much about herself, her own personal style, but also quickly became enthusiastic about environmental preservation through re-purposing textile waste into beautiful one of a kind clothing with a bohemian flare. As a result, her fashion brand Karmatica Designs emerged in 2018 upon obtaining her Fashion Design & Entrepreneurship degree, along with an image consultant certification. Today, Karina is a highly motivated, passionate, curious, self driven professional hair artist, fashion designer, image consultant and entrepreneur who is indeed devoted to making people look and feel their best through her skills, intuition and overall knowledge because she simply wants to see more beauty, success and happiness in the world.
